I’ve always been one to keep my personal battles private—especially when it came to my health, menopause, and especially my weight.
The physical signs were there—my bloated belly, constant exhaustion, uncontrollable cravings. It was like my body had become dependent on carbs, and everyone could see the toll it was taking.
I just pretended not to care.
But this shadow had been following me for as long as I can remember, dictating my confidence, my energy, and even my happiness.

I always thought I had my weight somewhat under control, even with the challenges of menopause and the constant demands of my job as a teacher.
I had always been on the thinner side, so I never really worried about what I ate. But then, the weight started piling on, and suddenly, I felt like I was in unfamiliar territory.
At first, I laughed it off. Feeling sluggish and bloated had just become my “new normal.”
But then, as my workload increased and I started dipping my toes into dating again, it felt like my body was betraying me.
My energy plummeted, my cravings became unstoppable, and the weight kept creeping up.
Slow at first… then all at once.
I woke up one day, looked in the mirror, and barely recognized myself.
Despite eating less and trying my best to stay active, I inexplicably gained over 25 lbs in just a few months.

I’ve been on (and off…) of with no carbs since 2013. Went from 300+ pounds down to 199 in 18 months, fell off the wagon, now I’m back up to around 230 and falling again.
This approach changed my life. it gave me back the control of my body. It cured my sleep apnea and acid reflux. It gave me the confidence / energy / ability to get off the couch and start running.
