Let’s admit it: losing weight is extremely difficult.
And it’s not your fault.
We live in what some smartly call an “obesogenic environment,” which pushes us to put on pounds and makes losing them difficult.
That’s where the shocking stats below come from:
No wonder people are always on the lookout for faster, easier, and more efficient ways to achieve their dream weight.
In this quest for effective solutions, intermittent fasting is believed to be one approach to fast and effective weight loss.
However, new research presented at a scientific session by the American Heart Association might change your perspective on fasting.
We won’t overwhelm you with numbers, but here’s the most important thing you need to know:
Research shows that restricting daily eating to 8 hours or fewer is linked to a 91% higher risk of dying from heart disease or stroke. 2 |
The study particularly mentions a popular 16:8 eating diet, where you have an 8-hour window to eat and then fast for the remaining 16 hours.
So while intermittent fasting can give you some short-term weight loss results, in the long run, you’re at 2 times higher risk of death from heart disease or stroke.
If you already have some cardiovascular issues, the risk can increase by as much as 300%.
In addition to that, Dr. Alexander Ford, a clinical research scientist specializing in diet and metabolism, points out an intriguing alternative perspective:
“Fasting is not even the most effective method for weight loss. Not by a long shot.”
At first glance, fasting looks reasonable.
You don’t eat → you lose weight.
But our bodies are one of the most complex systems in the world.
So the truth is that skipping meals or drastically reducing your calorie intake can make it harder to lose weight in the long run. 3
“This is because when you skip meals, your body goes into a state of preservation.
This means that when you eat, your body may store more calories as fat instead of using them for energy.
Simply because it’s afraid it will be in deficit again, so it’s better to have more ‘savings’ for that case,” explains Dr. Ford.
This can lead to weight gain, even if you are consuming fewer calories overall. 4
Think of this like lowering the thermostat on your water heater to save on energy bills. When you need hot water, the heater has to work harder to heat it up quickly, so you actually may end up overpaying.
That’s why while fasting might seem like a quick fix, it can actually complicate your weight management efforts.
Dr. Alexander Ford emphasizes that when considering weight loss strategies, personal comfort is more important than the effectiveness of the solution.
“Dozens of studies we’ve done show that it’s possible to lose weight in many different ways.
But then there are problems and inconveniences that come with each solution and drag people off the road.
So that’s what you should target in the first place,” concludes Dr. Alexander Ford.
To tackle the challenges of classic weight loss solutions, a group of dietitians, coaches, and clinical nutritionists ran a big survey in the US.
First, they identified key weight management challenges people have.
And here’s where it gets intriguing.
It turns out that common weight loss solutions often overlook the real struggles people face, making them quit before getting the desired results.
Or even if they do help, they don’t show how to maintain those results.
Eventually, they turned their learnings into a personalized weight loss program known as Perfect Body.
It turned out to work perfectly for many people who…
… usually lack commitment and slip off easily.
… have a busy life and find it difficult to fit in any big changes.
… have a limited budget.
… struggle to maintain their weight loss results and easily gain lost pounds back.
What makes Perfect Body’s approach stand out is that it makes weight loss easy, enjoyable, and accessible.
Perfect Body is a personalized weight loss program with a focus on meal plans.
Personalized is a key here.
It takes into account your age, lifestyle, activity levels, goals (weight loss or muscle gain), and even food preferences.
From there, it crafts a meal plan that you’d really like to follow.
This customization makes Perfect Body an ideal choice for anyone, no matter whether you’re 20 or 70, following a specific diet, working out or not.
Nancy, 52, is a florist from Oregon. She enjoys cooking for her family but often struggles with meal planning due to the limited grocery options in her small town.
Finding a service that could cater to this challenge seemed unlikely, as the recipes she finds online often include ingredients that are too fancy or hard to find.
“You know, I looove experimenting in the kitchen, and lately, I wanted to switch to a healthier menu.
However, I had to stick to locally available ingredients since I try to follow the 100-Mile diet, and honestly, I was running out of ideas.
Then I discovered Perfect Body. It showed me how to make the most of what I have at hand and introduced me to some delicious new dishes.
Plus, I’ve already lost 18 pounds without any extra effort. Definitely worth trying if you ask me!”
Another person who agreed to talk to us was Barbara Ruth-Williams, 73, a retired nurse from Tennessee.
She shared that losing weight has been a long-time struggle for her, especially because she’s a picky eater and didn’t want to go through the hassle of cooking separately for herself and her husband.
What Perfect Body helped her with the most was a wide variety of recipes to choose from:
“I’ve often been told that at my age, I’m 73 by the way, there’s not much you can do about weight. ‘Just accept it.’
Ha, that’s not how I used to live this life.
So I started this Perfect Body program, even though I don’t need a perfect body but the content there was amazing.
I had no clue about many of the recipes I learned. They help me lose weight AND my husband also eats what I cook since it’s not only that broccoli-chia-avocado stuff he despises.
I’ve been on it for 4 months now. Happy with the results, and cooking feels even easier.”
Finally, we contacted Maria, 32, a graphic designer from California who was very excited about Perfect Body on her social media pages.
Maria told us that she’s been on the weight loss track for quite some time now.
However, finding a sustainable approach to weight loss seemed impossible, as most plans she tried in the past relied heavily on restrictions and cut out many of her favorite foods.
“I used to think you had to suffer to lose weight. Seriously, for me, it was always about crazy restrictions and feeling miserable.
But Perfect Body totally changed my mindset!
They helped me set up my own healthy routines that I really love, and can easily fit in between my work and free time.
The meals are tasty and easy. I generally try to spend as little time in the kitchen as I can, and Perfect Body helps me with this.
And yeah, it’s been just 3 weeks but I already can see the changes around my waistline. Totally recommend! ”

I have been looking at so many different diets but they all have foods like soy and things I just hate and won’t eat so I don’t bother. But this look different, I think I’m going to give it a try.
