I’m going to be really open about my situation here. So no judgment, please.
Menopause has caused me so many issues these past few years. Some of the symptoms were really draining.
I’m 49, and for years, I moaned that I hated having my period so late in life.
And now, this brought down a hodgepodge of unpredictable stuff, followed no pattern, and changed throughout the day and night.
The migraines, brain fog, anger, hot flashes…
I needed to take myself away into my room sometimes and tell the family to leave me be.
I couldn’t describe what I had been going through to them, even if they wanted to hear it all.
And some days, all I could do was just get through doing virtually nothing.
I would miss my sharp brain – I couldn’t believe words failed me.
I mean, sure. My reproductive system is winding down… but what does this have to do with my not remembering the word for tomato?
As if that wasn’t enough, in the past year and a half, I have put on 43 lbs despite eating less and not making any significant changes.
I know that metabolism slows down (gradually) as people age, but I think gaining that much weight in under 2 years was a bit insane.
And it was driving me nuts that I was having a really hard time losing it.
I’ve noticed my friends were gaining a sizeable amount of weight in menopause too.
When the symptoms started, I thought I’d only get hot flashes… that’s all I had heard about.
It took me a while to connect the dots between menopause and my weight gain.
I went to seek professional help and was recommended hormone replacement therapy (HRT) by my provider.
It helped a bit, but nothing has changed drastically since I started it.
And any time I mentioned the weight gain to any of my friends, I got a reaction like, “Oh, yeah, just you wait, it gets worse.”
It’s so sad to look back now – I assumed I was supposed to feel awful and get bigger during this time.
But when I could no longer bear the new rolls on my belly and bending over felt like a huge discomfort (on top of every other menopause symptom).
Not to mention, I was forced to buy new, bigger, baggier clothes to hide my body. I was embarrassed.
I also tried losing weight in conventional ways before:
Followed some well-known diets and eliminated carbs from the menu.
For 2 months, I did it: no alcohol, almost no processed foods, avoiding sugar. Basically deprived myself of as much as I could.
During that time, I lost only 2–3 pounds.
Twenty years ago, I swear, I would’ve been down 20 pounds with this effort!
I was sure that feeling beautiful and confident was impossible when you’re over 45.
Oh, how wrong I was.
I went to see a gynecologist.
I was hoping for some new insight, something different from the typical “you’re getting older, this is normal” advice.
And, to my surprise – after I disclosed all my failed weight loss and menopause management attempts –, she suggested something I hadn’t considered before.
Turns out, most of her patients in menopause had lost weight successfully by following a personalized hypnotherapy program.
She told me it’s not just about weight loss—it’s about addressing the underlying emotional stress that comes with menopause.
Hypnosis can help reduce stress, manage cravings, and promote a more balanced mindset around food and body image.
She was 100% sure it would work for any woman later in life.
After I had tried everything else in the book, I figured… why not?
That’s why I started a personalized hypnotherapy program my gynecologist recommended…
Hypnotherapy works by guiding your subconscious mind into a more relaxed, focused state. So it’s easier to reframe your thoughts and habits.
With the personalized program, I started listening to short sessions every night before bed, just 15 minutes.
At first, I wasn’t sure it was doing anything… but within a few days, I noticed I was waking up calmer, less anxious, and not craving snacks the moment I got up.
I watch what I eat, but I don’t restrict myself; I don’t follow any specific diet or eliminate any food groups, and I enjoy desserts without guilt or shame.
And guess what?! I’ve lost 21 pounds so far. I feel better, and my clothes are two to three sizes smaller than when I started.
The most surprising part is that my hot flashes are almost non-existent now, and I’m not bloated anymore.
I’m so much happier now!
When I first started researching hypnotherapy, I found thousands of success stories from women just like me.
The proof was everywhere, and it was easy to get excited.
I read a few blogs, listened to a free session online, and thought I could figure it out on my own.
But that was a huge mistake.
Just closing my eyes and “trying to relax” wasn’t enough. I soon realized I was doing it all wrong!
So my advice is: don’t start hypnotherapy without proper guidance, especially if you don’t know the answers to questions like:
Firstly, my gynecologist suggested I complete a free health quiz to take the guesswork out of my weight loss and hypnotherapy journey (link below).
In less than 2 minutes, I got my personalized hypnotherapy program – designed specifically for women going through menopause and created by certified experts in hypnosis, neuroscience, and women’s health.
And although I’m usually skeptical of all the “programs” out there, this one wasn’t a gimmick!
Secondly, I downloaded the app that came with my plan, and it completely changed how I approached weight loss.
The sessions were short, calming, and actually enjoyable. All I had to do was press play each night before bed.
And just like my gynecologist said, this hypnotherapy approach (called Her Hypnosis) didn’t just help me lose weight. It also gave me:
✅ Increased metabolism and energy,
✅ Little to no food cravings,
✅ Deeper sleep, better mood, and…
✅ Almost fully eliminated menopause symptoms!

I started the hypnosis sessions back in December as of today I’ve lost 33.2 lbs, I feel so much better I can go up stairs way easier, I’ve had so many people ask what I’ve done to lose the weight, I went from a size 14 to a 4or 6 I can wear, I feel so good about myself now, this is something I’ll keep doing just to stay on track and it’s actually easier to fall asleep. Yes it actually works!!
I lost 48 lbs in 6 months just following this . I had to work on myself the first week but after that everything went like a breeze . Never going back . I’m 55 and feel like I’m in my 30’s , my joint pain is gone and people say I now walk with grace !
This helped me lose weight. Went from 175 to 153. But honestly, the biggest win is I don’t binge around the holidays anymore. I finally feel in control of when and why I eat. That’s huge.
