Talking periods shouldn’t be taboo. Yet, here I am, a little scared.
But I’m about to get real with mine. And boy, have we had our battles.
Mine weren’t just a nuisance. They were the main event. The kind that ruins plans and demands attention, loudly.
Pain, bloating, mood swings – you name it. It felt like my body was constantly against me.
And my weight was another thing…
Let’s just say, my PMS cravings had me emptying the pantry for all the candy and junk food. Before, during, and even after my period days.
I tried making peace with my body. Really, I did. But it felt like it had its own agenda.
I thought all women shared this battle… But I couldn’t help but wonder if there was a better way to sail these stormy seas.
Just when I thought I had it all under control, my body decided to prove me wrong.
You see, I was under the impression that bloating up like a balloon and craving every sweet in sight was just part of the “woman experience.”
I was playing a never-ending game of hormonal whack-a-mole. Lose a pound here, gain three there, all while my periods laughed in the background.
And my mood swings had me going from laughing at a shampoo commercial to sobbing over a misplaced sock in record time.
I thought all women lived in this cycle of chaos. But let me tell you… that’s just not normal.
That is, until I noticed my weight creeping up despite my best efforts. “Betrayed by my own body,” I’d joke at the mirror, but deep down, it wasn’t all that funny.
Even worse: when I finally had the guts (literally) to climb the scales, I was shocked to find the truth: in only a couple of months, I had gained over 20 pounds.
Online, I found a world of advice. Eat this, not that; try this workout, avoid that one. Everything contradicted everything else.
I was just about ready to throw in the towel and live in my yoga pants forever.
Little did I know, one small thing was about to change everything…
It all came to a head during a shopping spree. You know, one of those outings that’s supposed to be fun. It wasn’t.
I was in a changing room, wrestling with a dress that refused to zip up. My friend was outside, waiting with a pile of options.
I came out (without the dress), then I started ranting. About how nothing fit. How my body seemed to have become a stranger to me, especially during my period.
“I’m just so tired,” I sighed. “Tired of looking like this, of eating non-stop, and feeling like a balloon every month. I just really hate myself. I don’t even know what I’m doing.”
That’s when she stopped me. She looked me straight in the eyes and said something that hit me like a ton of bricks.
“You shouldn’t hate your body,” she said. “It’s perfect. It’s strong. It’s yours. Look at you! You’re a mother, a hard worker, a phenomenal woman. Your periods shouldn’t be dictating your life. You should.”
Her words struck a chord. Deep down, I knew she was right.
I had been on every diet known to mankind, tried apps, plans, but nothing changed. My periods ruled my world, overshadowing everything.
I realized then, if I didn’t take control, who would? I needed a real change, not just a temporary fix.
And as fate would have it, the solution was closer than I thought.
One day, I decided to catch up with some friends over coffee. One of them, my oldest friend, she’s something else.
She’s someone I’ve always admired. Not just for her wisdom, but after the pandemic she had a complete change.
Now, we irradiate health, beauty, and happiness.
She was just a little older than me, with two beautiful kids, her own company… a perfect life.
And the thing is… she hadn’t succumbed to the seemingly inevitable period-related weight gain that plagued me.
A woman with no cravings? Really?
She wasn’t chained to a restrictive diet or spending every waking moment at the gym. Yet, she exuded vitality. It was baffling and, frankly, a bit inspiring.
As I shared my frustrations — the endless battle with my weight, the painful periods, and how I felt trapped in a cycle of quick-fix solutions that never worked — she listened intently…
Then, she shared her secret.
“It’s not about punishing yourself with restrictive diets or trying to out-exercise your needs,” she said. “It’s about understanding your body, especially how it reacts to certain foods and routines during your cycle.”
I know it sounds obvious, but that was my lightbulb moment. I had been so focused on battling symptoms that I hadn’t considered working in harmony with my body’s natural rhythms.
She talked about a program that had helped her – not a miracle cure, but a personalized approach crafted by professionals.
It included a period tracker and tailored plans encompassing nutrition, exercise, and wellness tips that adapted to your body’s needs throughout the month.
I must’ve looked skeptical because she quickly added, “And it’s affordable — think of it as investing the cost of our coffee into your health every month.”
That’s when my perspective shifted. I had tried all sorts of diets and generic fitness apps, but none considered my menstrual cycle or offered anything truly personalized.
Fueled by our conversation, I was ready to try something new, something that promised not just a solution to my weight and period woes but a way to live in sync with my body.
So, I took her advice and got the tracker and plan combo she recommended.
Little did I know, this was the beginning of a journey that would transform my relationship with my body and my health.
Jumping into this program and actively using the period tracker I felt things changing for me.
But I’ll admit it. At first, I was a little bit concerned about the nutrition part of it.
The meals looked good, but I worried about eating too much.
Three meals and two snacks a day? That sounded like a lot.
Don’t I need to eat LESS to lose weight?
But this plan was all about balance. It wasn’t just cutting food out. I got to have snacks (really good ones) and eat meals I actually liked.
And food that would help me with my period symptoms during those days.
And it wasn’t just about eating. The plan had tips for sleeping better, and even my husband noticed I was sleeping more soundly.
And you know what else? The usual pain I had around my period started to go away. I even had more energy to start exercising – yes, even during my period!
As weeks turned into months, I was hit with a real surprise. The scales started to tip in my favor.
This was about knowing what my body needed. Workouts that didn’t tire me, foods that filled me up, and the guidance I needed to keep my period issues in check.
And I still was allowed to eat the things I loved.
A few months later, I had lost over 36 lbs. But more than that, I was in love with myself.
Because I was finally giving my body the kind of fuel it needed, not just stuff to fill the gap.
✅ I finally managed to lose weight for good
Before I knew it, the pounds started dropping.
With a few months still to go until my next birthday, I was already feeling and looking better than I had in years.
The feeling of slipping into clothes that hadn’t fit in ages was absolutely unbeatable.
Sure, there’s a bit more to go on my weight journey, but the changes in my body’s tone, especially around my belly, have been remarkable.
Adding even simple exercises to my routine, as suggested by the app, made everything faster.
✅ Sometimes I even forget I’m on my period
The issues I had with my periods started to fade. Less pain, less PMS, less cravings, and hello regular cycles!
It was like my body was finally listening to me, aligning with the natural rhythms it was supposed to follow all along.
I kept following their tips and guidance, and now I’m more me than ever – no matter the time of the month.
✅ Daily life just got better
My energy levels soared, and sleepless nights became a thing of the past. Now I sleep like a baby.
And my husband noticed the difference in bed, too. If you know what I mean…
It’s amazing how proper nutrition, a little bit of movement, and giving your body what it needs can transform not just your body, but your entire life.
✅ Falling in love with me
The biggest change… Definitely how I feel about myself.
This journey brought me a sense of self-awareness I didn’t know I was missing.
I learned to listen to my body, respect its needs, and treat it with care.
Sure, I’m not “perfect,” but who is? I’ve learned to love my body for what it is and appreciate how strong and capable it has become.
Initially, I took a free quiz. A few questions in, and it promised a plan tailored just for me.
It felt like someone finally got it — including how my periods affect everything from my mood to my weight.
After that, I got my tracker and plan. And it wasn’t about missing out on snacks. It was about smarter choices. Small changes, big impact.
Each step felt designed just for me.
And here’s what I’ve learned: my journey is mine alone. This program and tracker took into account my body type, nutritional needs, routine, and especially my preferences.
This approach was a game-changer. For once, a program acknowledged my period wasn’t a pause button on my goals but a part of the plan.
And it was the only thing that worked for me.
That’s why finding a path that’s tailor-made for you is key here.
I just hope you seize this opportunity… Learn to work with your period, not against it.
You deserve to rock that body you’ve been dreaming of.
It’s risk-free — a simple period tracker and wellness program. I’m telling all my friends about it… Give it a try!
Thank you for your comment
I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one facing this. I’ve been on a calorie deficient and consistent with my workout and then period hit me towards the end of the week, mindlessly checked the scale and gained almost 3lbs. And it kept pilling up every month. Hope this helps me!
I’ve followed this program and used the tracker for a while now and believe me IT’S TRUE IT ACTUALLY WORKS! I’m still far from my goal, but I’ve gone from 210 lbs to 160 lbs and my periods are finally regular. No more cravings or PMS also. This saved my life really
(TMI WARNING) I’m actually pretty lucky when it comes to tracking my period. A day before my period, a super light red color shows up when I wipe after I go pee 😂. I am going to start tracking it though because the bonus of losing weight sound great!
